During June 2026, Ukrainian forces documented for the first time their use of the “Punisher,” a bunker buster munition designed for deployment from large rotary-wing UAVs to eliminate reinforced and hardened targets, such as covered trenches, field shelters and concrete bunkers populating Russian defensive lines. The munition features a four-sided, spike-shaped nose, a square body and ringed four-fin tail configuration. Video documentation demonstrates the Punisher’s time-delay fuze, showing the munition penetrating the ground and detonating after a 2-to-3 second interval. The Punisher represents one of several domestically produced bunker-buster munitions, highlighting the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ ongoing technical ingenuity as Western assistance transitions from US- to European-led pipelines.
