Mobius report 76/2026 – RC Initiation Systems for the OZM-72 Bounding Mine, Ukraine

Terrogence Intelligence Team

The OZM-72 bounding mine is one of the most common anti-personnel mines used in the war in Ukraine. It is frequently delivered by UAVs and has been documented with several adapted initiation mechanisms, including Doppler motion sensors and electromechanically deployed tripwires. RC receivers used with the OZM-72 include dedicated initiation-system receivers and commercial off-the-shelf receiver modules.

The Ukrainian Madyar’s Birds UAV unit has extensively documented the delivery and combat use of OZM-72 RCIEDs by UAV. These RC initiation systems enable more effective use of the bounding mine against enemy personnel.
