Mobius report 69/2026 – Geran-4 Jet-Powered Loitering Munition

On August 17, 2026, a downed Geran loitering munition was documented at an unspecified location. The jet-powered airframe configuration indicates the system was a Geran-4, a recently reported Geran variant assessed to incorporate seeker and target-recognition functions. An optical device resembling the Honpho TS130C-01 camera associated with the Geran-4 was recovered nearby.

Unlike the pure delta-wing design of earlier variants, the Geran-4 has a modified polygonal airframe. Certain examples have also reportedly carried winglet-mounted devices identified as inertial-navigation sensors intended to improve targeting accuracy. Available documentation indicates the Geran-4 is fitted with optical equipment that enables higher-precision strikes. This capability appears consistent with a shift in target selection during July and August 2026, when jet-powered Geran systems struck mobile and high-value targets, including Ukrainian uncrewed surface vessels, locomotives, aircraft, and trucks.
