March 1, 20262 min readTerrogence Intelligence Team

On February 4, 2026, during an attempt by an EOD technician to neutralize an IED, an explosion occurred inside a restroom at a gas station on Highway 410 (Pattani–Yala), Talubo Subdistrict, Mueang District, Pattani Province. As a result of the blast, the EOD technician sustained injuries to his right hand.

Later that day and the following day, several additional IEDs were located and neutralized in restroom facilities at gas stations and in a restroom at a bus terminal across Pattani Province. The neutralized devices were equipped with digital delay systems, a metallic reusable bottle-based IED casing, and an improvised electric detonator.

The components of these devices are identical to those documented in the series of IEDs planted in Phuket, Krabi, and Phang Nga in June 2025. In addition, identical device components were recovered during a search following a work accident involving IED assembly in Yala Province, two days prior to the restroom IED incidents.
