Since October 6, 2025, a Ukrainian initiation system designated “Opera” has been documented with increasing frequency in the Ukrainian theater of operations. Although this type of system had been observed prior to this period, more detailed and repeated documentation has only appeared recently. The Opera system is used with FPV racing drone-based improvised loitering munitions, as well as armed UAVs, and is integrated into Ukrainian FPV UAS, including the F7 series, as a standard initiation mechanism.
