During July 2025, Russian forces reported identifying an unfamiliar improvised fragmentation mine in the Ukrainian battlefield. The mine, resembling stake mines and featuring an external metallic fragmentation layer, is deployed and dispersed by a drone. The mine belongs to a family of Ukrainian-produced drone-deployed mines, which include an electronic initiation system with an arming delay, a self-destruct feature, and a magnetic sensor serving as a booby trap for initiating the mine.
