July 1, 20251 min readTerrogence Intelligence Team

On June 13, 2025, Israel launched an attack against Iran in an operation codenamed “Am KeLavi,” (“Operation Rising Lion”), which lasted 12 days, concluding on June 24, 2025, following US strikes on Iranian nuclear sites.

In response to the attacks, Iran launched hundreds of missiles and over 1,050 loitering munitions of various types at Israel. One of the loitering munitions hit a residential building in the city of Beit She’an, in northeastern Israel, and several were intercepted in Israeli territory, but the vast majority were intercepted before entering Israeli airspace.

Most of the loitering munitions were known models, such as the Shahed-136 or Shahed-101, but some had not previously been observed in operational use, including a jet-powered variant of the Shahed-136, the Shahed-107, and the Arash-2.
