In October 2023, visual documentation, including videos and images started to appear in Russian and Ukrainian Telegram channels, showing camouflaged AP mines released from UAVs on the battlefield by Russian forces.
Over time, more footage appeared, showing the Russian Army actively employing this TTP.

Camouflage increases the efficiency level, whether the mine is released from the air (which is a relatively new trend,) or placed manually. The tactic itself is not new but is relevant for any active battlefield. The TTP is traditionally used to target enemy personnel but may also be a threat to bomb disposal and EOD personnel tasked with handling and clearing areas.
