In the past three months, a new, anonymous, jihadi group named Hurras al-Tawheed has surfaced, replete with a spokesman, a media wing and several propagandist products, including a bi-weekly magazine titled, “O Mujahideen in the West.” Hosting under Al-Qaeda’s Gnews chat platform and cooperating with the Taliban’s Umar Media, this impressive enterprise is led by a mysterious spokesman known as Abu Yahya. In addition to its commentary on current events and analyses of theoretical and practical aspects of jihad, the new group seeks to promote an audacious “new age of jihad,” in which the main actors in the global jihadi scene, namely Al-Qaeda and the Islamic State, are unified.
